CHICAGO, November 26, 2008 – Jim Kinney is the 2009 national president of the Council of Real Estate Brokerage Managers. The Council, which has almost 7,000 members worldwide, confers the Certified Real Estate Brokerage Manager (CRB) designation and is the governing body of the most prestigious real estate network for brokers, owners and managers in the nation.
Kinney was installed as president during the Council’s recent business meetings in Orlando during the REALTORS® Conference & Expo. His official term as the organization’s 40th president begins January 1, 2009. He holds the professional designations of Accredited Buyer Representative (ABR), Certified Real Estate Brokerage Manager (CRB), Certified Residential Specialist (CRS), and, Graduate REALTOR® Institute (GRI).
Kinney, President of Rubloff, Inc., joined the company in 1984 as a Sales Associate, and was promoted to Senior Vice President of Rubloff's Residential Properties Group in 1991, then named President in 1993. He is the Chicago Association of REALTORS'® representative director at the Multiple Listing Service of Northern Illinois, and served as President of that organization. He was named to the Illinois GRI Committee in 1996, and is past dean of the REALTOR® Institute and past president of the Illinois CRS Chapter. He is a member of FIABCI, the International Real Estate Federation, and is the Rubloff representative with Estates Club, an international marketing group of luxury home specialists. He was named as a member of Who's Who in Luxury Real Estate in 1996. In addition, he serves as the National Association of REALTORS® Presidential liaison to Ireland. Kinney is also a member of the National Trust for Historic Preservation, and represents Rubloff in that organization. He was also honored with The REALTOR® of the Year Award in 2004.
Locally, he is a Director of the Greater North Michigan Avenue Association, a member of the Executives Club of Chicago, and serves as president of the Advisory Board of the Illinois Eye Bank. He is also involved in numerous local charities and gives back to the Chicago community.
Kinney has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Northwestern University, and enjoyed a career in advertising before joining the ranks of the real estate world.
